Pecky the Chick

Our one and only chick this year hatched out on bank holiday Monday, Mr and Mrs Ward videoed the chick coming out of the incubator so that we could all watch it when we got back to school the following day. Everybody was very excited to be greeted by the noisy little chick, since then we have named the chick Pecky after a child suggested Peck Peck because the naughty little chick likes to peck at fingers!

Pecky definatly lives up to it's name and often pecks our hands, clothes and shoes when we let it out for some excercise, (luckily the pecking doesn't hurt, it just tickles!).

We hope you enjoy looking at the video and photos to follow.

Spring 12th March - 16th March

We have had another busy week in Nursery this week thinking about Spring and Mothers Day, so some of the activities will have to be kept top secret till Sunday! (I wonder how many of the children will manage to keep the secret!!)

We have created some fantastic pastel drawings of Daffodils this week, and have created a large colourful printed picture for our spring display (A picture of the display will be posted when we have finished adding all of cretions to it!)

The traffic light jelly went down very well on Monday with some children having three helpings! We were all able to say what the different colours on a traffic light means.

We also found a treasure chest outside one morning, and somebody had buried treasure in our sand pit, which we used the metal detector to try and locate.

Traffic Light Jelly

Today we have been busy exploring science through making jellies. Watching the jelly melt then leaving it to set. On monday we will make the three colours into traffic lights before we eat them for snack.
